CHRISTINE KAMMERER <\/strong>is a Danish-born award-nominated artist, known for her versatile talents as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer. Since 2022 Kammerer has lived in Scotland focusing on curating Scottish-Scandinavian connections through music history and symphonic folk fusion, and on curating the history of women \u2013 and witches \u2013 in the alcohol industry in her and Jane Ross\u2019 critically acclaimed Musical Whisky Experience \u201cWhisky & Witches<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BACKGROUND<\/h2>\n\n\n

Kammerer has a BA in “Musicology and Comparative Cultural Studies”, and a Master of Arts in “Modern Culture and Cultural Communication” specialising in Ethnomusicology and the Curation of Cultural Heritage through Living History, from Copenhagen University. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023 she also finished a 2 year course in Music Production from MPW. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kammerer\u2019s forte is developing projects which focus on curating cultural heritage and strengthening intercultural connections through music and performance, and brand activation through innovative performance concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are core aspects of her work with Musical Whisky Experiences<\/strong>, as well as her work as a specialist in Viking Age Music. For 8 years Kammerer has collaborated with museums, universities, festivals. Since 2022 this OurWhisky Foundation mentee<\/strong> has also worked as a freelance whisky ambassador with brands and distilleries across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kammerer regularly tours<\/strong> and has performed on stages across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Germany, and USA, in venues such as Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (SCT), the Scottish Storytelling Centre (SCT), the National Museum of Denmark (DK), Elsinore Castle (DK), Spirit of Speyside Festival (SCT), Fe\u00ecs \u00ecle (SCT), Schloss Thurnau (GER), Plassenburg Schloss (GER), Pearse Lyons Distillery (IRE), and Copenhagen Distillery (DK). She has also performed for Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kammerer is lead singer and lyre player in the fusion-folk\/Viking band Jotunger, and is co-founder of the 5-star, critically acclaimed, award-nominated musical whisky experience “Whisky & Witches”.<\/strong> The show has toured Denmark, Scotland, Norway, Germany, Northern Ireland and Ireland, sold out 30+ shows and has recently collaborated with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.<\/strong>

Kammerer now works with whisky companies and distilleries who wish to active their products and brand in a different, creative way. Recently she released a Musical Whisky Interpretation<\/strong> and a jingle for a whisky company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her releatively young career in whisky, Kammerer has performed her musical whisky tastings, at some of the biggest whisky festivals\/venues: Spirit of Speyside Festival (UK), Fe\u00ecs \u00ecle (UK), Copenhagen Distillery (DK), Tunsberg Whisky Festival (NO), Belfast Whiskey Week (NIR), and Celtic Castle (GER).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Kammerer is Affiliate Artist with UNESCO RILA (Refugees Integration through Languages and Arts) at University of Glasgow<\/strong>. In 2024 she finished a Creative Scotland<\/strong> project for the Scottish Crannog Centre, composing music for the new Iron Age village in Dalerb. Kammerer co-created a choir composition for Maryhill Integration Network\u2019s \u201cthe Joyous Choir\u201d, and composed 8 songs for the museum, which have developed over her 4 years of working with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
