BAND – JOTUNGER

Christine Kammerer is a Danish singer, lyre player and composer and Master of Arts in Musicology and Cultural Studies. She is the composer, lead singer, lyre player and pianist in the band Jotunger.

NEW ALBUM OUT: JOTUN REVOLUTION

This album is born from a longing for connection with nature and history. The album title and the band name are inspired by the jotuns of Norse mythology, both symbolizing a primordial force and beings such as elves, trolls and other fae folk. Our modern civilization has lost it’s ways. Now is the time for a Jotun Revolution.

LIVE REEL

JOTUNGER is an experimental Nordic folk fusion band, whose work is informed by different genres of music. The band members have decades of experience touring the world, and come from various educational backgrounds such as Musicology, History, Ethnomusicology and Cultural Heritage Studies, which allow us to bring a fun and educational dimension to our performances as well. Something we have specialized in doing at Viking festivals all over Scandinavia, and in collaboration with museums all over Denmark.

We can perform as a trio, quartet or as a full band. Recently we performed with the award-nominated concept Whisky & Witches at Copenhagen Distillery, at the National Museum of Denmark, and have been touring Viking and Fantasy Festivals all summer.

In 2024 the band also recorded the Nordic/Celtic Symphonic Folk Fusion project “Echoes of North” which Christine Kammerer wrote.
