LIVE REEL

JOTUNGER is a Danish Viking band whose work, like that of the Vikings themselves, is inspired by travel across different parts of the world – as well as by various branches of folk music and historical music.

For almost a decade, Jotunger have left their mark on the Danish Viking and folk music scene and have become one of the most sought-after Viking bands at festivals and museums. They have performed numerous times at the National Museum of Denmark, appeared with the musical experience Whisky & Witches at Copenhagen Distillery, and in August 2025 they debuted their

“Jotunger: A Viking Feast & Musical Experience”

at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Selling out several shows and garnering great reviews.

Experience a soundscape of Nordic and Celtic tonalities which echo in mountains, breathe in ancient oak trees, and awaken the elven king deep within the hill.

Through an atmospheric landscape of crackling, playful lyre, hypnotic articulations of woodwinds and gemshorns, evocative vocals, and a horsehair bow dancing across the strings of the bowed lyre, the listener is transported deep into an ancient time.

Jotunger’s performance is not only entertaining, it is rooted in history and echoing ancient melodic structures which are woven into original compositions. The band has decades of touring experience and diverse backgrounds ranging from University to Music Conservartory.
